Project
Two-storey elevation of an administrative building built in the late 1960s by architects F. Maurice, J.-P. Dom and L. Parmelin, along avenue Louis-Casaï towards Cointrin Airport.
Expansion of an underground car park for a total of 100 covered spaces and 27 outdoor spaces. The car park also includes 28 covered spaces for 2-wheel vehicles.
After consulting with the architect who designed the original project, we concluded that it was preferable to propose a contemporary design language for the two levels to be created. This intervention required extensive planning and careful coordination between the companies, in order to limit any nuisance to existing tenants and avoid any risk of accidents when delivering supplies to the construction site.
Steel was the natural structural choice. In terms of architectural expression, we wanted to enhance the space of the newly created floors by using full-height glass, while marking the counterpoint and the horizontal lines with metal cladding reminiscent of aircraft wings. A carbonation treatment of the prefabricated elements completed the rejuvenation of the building.
